Izaac wins round 3 of the UCI BMX World Cup series in his hometown!

After a 8 month injury rehab, Izaac Kennedy  made his return to racing in New Zealand for the 1st 2 rounds of the UCI World Cup and made his way into the main event on the 1st day. So after getting a race weekend under his belt, he was really looking forward to his home county World Cup in Australia.
On Saturday, Izaac and Joris both rode strong and and were the 2 fastest riders throughout the day and both made their way into the main event. When the gate dropped, it was an all out battle between Joris and Izaac, with Joris just edging out Izaac. Down the 2nd straight, Joris had a small bobble which let to a massive crash, leaving race to Izaac to lead all the way to the line for his first World Cup win. Izaac was overcome with emotion as it sunk in that he just won his first World Cup and that it was in front of his friends and family at his home track.
Joris unfortunately was helped off the track by the medial crew. Joris sustained a fracture in his collar bone. He’s looking to be back on track in time for the final 2 rounds of the World Cup series in April.

KENNEDY, Izaac (AUS) & BUTTI, Cedric (SUI)

On Sunday, Chase supported racer Cedric Butti once again rode his way into the main event and onto the podium, with a 2nd place finish. Cedric now has a lead over Joris for the overall lead in the World Cup series.
