Houston, Texas, USA Cycling held its 2020 National Championships in conjunction with the USA BMX Lonestar Nationals. The Houston track is also the site of the 2020 UCI BMX World Championships, so this was a great opportunity for Connor Fields to get some racing time on the track, as well as go for the National Championship. With the one day event being held on Friday, Connor would race against the best racers from the USA to try to earn his 4th USA Cycling Elite Mens National Championship.
As the race day opened, Connor looked to be on top form, as he was the fastest rider in qualifying rounds, winning each of his events all the way to the main event.
When the gate dropped for the Final, Connor would take the hole shot and the lead around the fast and technical track in Houston, and ride a smooth and quick lap around the track on his way to the win and USA National Championship title! This is Connors 3rd win of the young 2020 season, following his 2 wins on the UCI BMX World Cup circuit last month.
Connor will now get ready to kick off his 2020 USA BMX Pro series season racing on Saturday in Houston with a larger, International field of BMX Pro racers.
