Chase BMX Pro Team Race Report – UCI BMX World Cup Rounds 1 & 2 – Sakarya, Turkey

After a successful weekend in Nashville, Tennessee at the USA BMX Music City nations, Joris Daudet and Izaac Kennedy traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to attend the opening round of the 2023 UCI BMX World Cup series in the town of Sakarya. As with any trip, complications can arise, and for Izaac, things did just that, as both his bike and clothing bags were lost in travel and failed to arrive. Luckily, US Pro Bikes, the Chase distributor in France, was able to get a full bike together to Isaac’s exact specs and had a team member fly to Turkey to ge the bike to him in time for practice on Friday. Both Joris and Izaac rode well and looked forward to this weekends opening round of the World Cup, racing the 8 meter hill and Supercross track format. Fans were excited to view all the race action live on the UCI YouTube page, as they can all season long.
Day 1-
The riders awoke to some heavy rain showers on Saturday, but race day would go on, as to the Sakarya track consist of a lot of asphalt and groomed surfaces to deal with such harsh weather conditions. Rain would plague racing in its early stages, but would wind down and stop all tougher heading into the single elimination rounds of racing.

Joris and Izaac stared the day of strong, wining th reopening rounds of racing. They would then go on and take top 2 in each of the qualifiers up until the semi finals. Joris and Izaac would be in the same race and Joris would be in 2nd for most lap while Izaac was stuck in 5th, and then made a strong move to get into the 4th spot. Unfortunately he would get passed in the last turn, ending his day, while Joris would go to the main event.
When the gate dropped Joris was battling for the lead, but came out of the first turn in 4th. Riding with strategic moves and speed, Joris would make a pass in the 3rd straight and move into 3rd place and grabbed the last spot on the podium for the day!

Day 2 –
Sunday was a great day for the Pros, as both riders made their way into the main event. Joris and Izaac both were out front for most of the day. When the gate slammed for the main event, Joris took the hole shot and lead the entire lap, taking the win, adding another incredible result to his impressive career. Izaac overcame adversity with his lost luggage and using a bike that was flown in on Thursday, Turing around a bad weekend to grab a podium spot and 3rd place in the main event. An incredible day for the team.

The riders now have a 2 week break before heading to the next stop of the UCI BMX World Cup Tour in Papendal, The Netherlands.
